미등록 의약품 불법 공급 혐의로 2명 체포
"윌름스 종양 1형(WT1)"이라는 백신을 판매하며 여러 종류의 암을 예방할 수 있다고 주장하는 일부 업소와 관련하여, 보건부(DH)는 오늘(9월 2일) 경찰과 합동으로 홍콩 전역의 여러 업소를 급습했다. 지금까지 두 곳의 업소에서 50여 개의 미등록 주사제 의약품이 압수되었다.
이번 작전에서 미등록 의약품 및 1급 독극물 불법 소지 혐의로 2명이 체포되었다. 보건부는 공중 보건을 보호하기 위해 미등록 의약품의 불법 판매 및 소지에 대한 강력한 단속을 지속할 것이라고 경고했다.
"WT1 백신은 홍콩에서 등록된 의약품이 아니며, 누구든지 미등록 의약품을 불법적으로 판매하거나 소지해서는 안 된다. 이 백신을 암 예방용으로 제공한다고 주장하는 모든 광고는 허위이며 사기 행위로 의심된다. 신고를 접수한 보건부는 관련 의혹이 제기된 'HK 퍼시픽 아시아 메디컬 센터'를 비롯해 소셜 미디어에서 이 백신을 제공한다고 주장한 다른 회사 및 관련 단체들을 대상으로 여러 차례 점검을 실시했다.
보건부는 경찰과 합동으로 10곳 이상의 사업장을 추가로 수색하여 현재까지 50개 이상의 미등록 의약품 바이알을 압수했습니다. 관련자들은 미등록 의약품 및 1급 독극물을 불법 소지한 혐의를 받고 있으며, 이는 약사 및 독극물 조례(제138장) 위반에 해당합니다. 현재까지 남성 1명과 여성 1명이 미등록 의약품 및 1급 독극물 불법 소지 혐의로 체포되었다.
Two Arrested on Charges of Illegally Supplying Unregistered Medicines
In connection with some establishments selling a vaccine called "Wilms Type 1 (WT1)" and claiming it can prevent various types of cancer, the Department of Health (DH) conducted joint raids with the police on several businesses across Hong Kong today (September 2). So far, over 50 unregistered injectable medicines have been seized from two establishments.
During the operation, two people were arrested on charges of illegal possession of unregistered medicines and Class 1 poisons. The Department of Health warned that it will continue a strong crackdown on the illegal sale and possession of unregistered medicines to protect public health.
Two Arrested on Charges of Illegally Supplying Unregistered Medicines The WT1 vaccine is not a registered medicine in Hong Kong, and no one is permitted to illegally sell or possess unregistered medicines. All advertisements claiming to provide this vaccine for cancer prevention are false and suspected of being fraudulent. Upon receiving reports, the Department of Health conducted multiple inspections targeting the 'HK Pacific Asia Medical Center,' which was the subject of the allegations, as well as other companies and related organizations that claimed to offer this vaccine on social media.
The Department of Health, in conjunction with the police, conducted additional searches of more than 10 establishments and has seized over 50 vials of unregistered medicines to date. Those involved are suspected of illegally possessing unregistered medicines and Class 1 poisons, which constitutes a violation of the Pharmacy and Poison Control Ordinance (Chapter 138). To date, one man and one woman have been arrested on charges of illegal possession of unregistered medicines and Class 1 poisons.
