에이즈 HIV감염 상황
홍콩 보건부 산하 건강보호센터(CHP)는 8월 25일, 2026년 상반기 홍콩에서 HIV 감염 신규 확진자가 171명, 후천성 면역결핍증(AIDS) 신규 확진자가 28명 발생했다고 발표했다.
홍콩의 HIV 신규 감염자 수는 10년 연속 감소세를 보이고 있지만, 최근 몇 년간 신규 확진자 중 검사 시기를 놓친 경우가 약 50%에 달해 높은 수준을 유지하고 있다. 검사 시기를 놓친 확진자의 약 80%는 HIV 검사를 받은 적이 없어 지역사회 내 HIV 전파 위험이 높아지고 있다.
이에 따라 CHP는 연령이나 성적 지향에 관계없이 성관계를 가진 모든 사람들에게 최소 한 번은 HIV 항체 검사를 받고, HIV 감염 및 기타 성병 감염 위험을 최소화하기 위해 콘돔을 꾸준하고 올바르게 사용할 것을 촉구했다.
현재 보건부는 시민들이 HIV 항체 검사를 받을 수 있도록 다양한 방법을 제공하고 있다.
HIV 검사 서비스 웹사이트(www.hivtest.gov.hk)를 방문하거나 에이즈 핫라인(2780 2211)으로 전화하여 무료로 익명 및 기밀이 보장되는 HIV 항체 검사를 예약할 수 있습니다.
홍콩의 HIV 감염률은 성인 인구 1,000명당 1명꼴로 세계 평균보다 훨씬 낮은 수준을 유지하고 있다. 1984년 이후 홍콩에서 보고된 HIV 감염 및 에이즈 누적 사례는 각각 12,905건과 2,671건이다.
AIDS and HIV Infection Situation
On August 25, the Centre for Health Protection (CHP), under the Hong Kong Department of Health, announced that there were 171 new confirmed cases of HIV and 28 new confirmed cases of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in Hong Kong during the first half of 2026.
Although the number of new HIV infections in Hong Kong has been declining for 10 consecutive years, the rate remains high, with approximately 50% of new cases in recent years having missed their testing window. About 80% of those who missed testing have never been tested for HIV, raising the risk of HIV transmission within the community.
Accordingly, the CHP urged everyone who has had sexual relations, regardless of age or sexual orientation, to undergo an HIV antibody test at least once, and to use condoms consistently and correctly to minimize the risk of HIV infection and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Currently, the Department of Health is providing various methods for citizens to undergo HIV antibody testing.

Hong Kong's HIV infection rate remains significantly lower than the global average, at 1 in 1,000 adults. Since 1984, the cumulative number of reported HIV infections and AIDS cases in Hong Kong stands at 12,905 and 2,671, respectively.
