홍콩 애완동물 호텔 대표, 보호 중이던 개에 물려 사망
홍콩 타구링(Ta Kwu Ling)의 한 애완동물 호텔에서 33세 여성 운영자가 개에게 물려 사망하는 사고가 발생했다.
어제 8월 20일 오후 2시경, 홍콩 타구링 핑양촌(Ping Yeung Village) 소재의 허가받은 애완동물 호텔 및 훈련 센터에서 해당 시설을 혼자 운영하던 33세 여성이 야외 잔디밭에서 믹스견에게 밥을 준 뒤 다시 견사(우리에) 넣으려 하자 개가 이를 거부하며 공격했다.
약 1분간 공격이 이어졌으며, 현장에서 구조대가 출동했을 때는 이미 숨진 상태였다.. 가해견은 입양을 기다리며 임시 보호중이던 1세가량의 노란색 수컷 믹스견(체중 약 30kg, 길이 1~1.5m) 대형견이다.
경찰은 과실 여부 등을 포함해 정확한 사건 경위를 수사 중이다.
최근 홍콩 원롱(YOHO MALL 인근)에서 60kg 크기의 대형견이 소형견들을 공격해 2마리가 사망한 안타까운 사고가 발생했다. 사건의 경위와 현장 상황 때문에 지역 사회에서 큰 논란이 되고 있다.
약 5kg 무게의 푸들과 비숑 프리제 등 소형견 2마리가 공격을 받아 죽었다.
. 가해 견종은 약 60kg 무게의 대형 잡종견으로, 공공장소에서 제대로 통제되지 않은 상태였다. 주변 행인과 관광객들이 말리려 시도했으나 개가 매우 크고 힘이 강해 막지 못했다.
견주는 사고 직후 가해견의 주인이 개를 두고 현장을 이탈해 도주했으나 견주 신원을 확인했으며, 공공장소 위험견 방치 및 위험견 관리법 위반, 동물 학대 방지 조례 위반 등의 혐의로 해당 견주를 기소 조치했다.
홍콩 현행법상 20kg 이상의 대형견은 공공장소에서 2미터 이내의 목줄을 채워 적절히 통제해야 하며, 이를 위반할 경우 최대 25,000홍콩달러(의 벌금과 3개월의 징역형에 처해질 수 있다.
Hong Kong Pet Hotel Owner Dies After Being Bitten by Dog Under Her Care
A 33-year-old female operator of a pet hotel in Ta Kwu Ling, Hong Kong, died after being bitten by a dog.
Around 2:00 PM yesterday, August 20, at a licensed pet hotel and training center located in Ping Yeung Village, Ta Kwu Ling, Hong Kong, the 33-year-old woman, who operated the facility alone, was feeding a mixed-breed dog on the outdoor lawn. When she attempted to put the dog back into its kennel, the dog refused and attacked her.
The attack continued for about one minute, and she was already dead by the time rescue workers arrived at the scene. The attacking dog was a large, yellow male mixed-breed dog, approximately one year old (weighing about 30 kg and measuring 1 to 1.5 meters in length), that was being fostered while awaiting adoption.
Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, including whether there was any negligence. Recently, a tragic incident occurred in Yuen Long, Hong Kong (near YOHO MALL) where a large dog weighing 60kg attacked small dogs, resulting in the deaths of two animals. The circumstances of the incident and the situation at the scene have sparked significant controversy within the local community.
Two small dogs, including a Poodle weighing approximately 5kg and a Bichon Frise, were attacked and killed.
The attacking dog was a large mixed-breed weighing about 60kg, which was not properly controlled in a public place. Bystanders and tourists attempted to intervene, but they were unable to stop the attack due to the dog's immense size and strength.
Immediately after the incident, the owner of the attacking dog fled the scene, leaving the dog behind. However, the owner's identity was confirmed, and the owner was charged with neglecting a dangerous dog in a public place, violating the Dangerous Dog Management Act, and violating the Animal Cruelty Prevention Ordinance. Under current Hong Kong law, large dogs weighing 20 kg or more must be properly controlled in public places by keeping them on a leash no longer than 2 meters, and violations may result in a fine of up to 25,000 Hong Kong dollars and imprisonment for up to 3 months.
