교통 AI 시스템, 스마트 모빌리티 강화
교통부는 8월 20일, 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 일련의 프로젝트를 발표했다. 이 프로젝트들은 면허 발급 서비스를 간소화하고, 갱신 처리 시간을 하루로 단축하며, 약 50개 교차로에 적응형 신호 시스템을 도입하여 스마트 모빌리티를 강화하는 것을 목표로 한다.
교통부는 올해 말까지 '간편 면허 신청 승인 프로젝트'를 시작할 예정이다. 이 시스템은 첨단 대규모 언어 모델 기술을 사용하여 온라인 차량 면허 갱신 신청 서류를 자동으로 인식, 교차 검증 및 확인한다.
이 프로젝트는 자동 승인 비율을 90% 이상으로 높이고 처리 시간을 최대 10일에서 하루로 대폭 단축하는 것을 목표로 한다.
또한 이 프로젝트는 홍콩 차량의 북행 운전과 광둥 차량의 남행 운전 등 두 가지 주 경계 간 운전 제도에도 적용된다. 교통부는 AI를 활용한 주 경계 간 운전 허가 신청 자동 승인 비율을 50% 이상으로 높여 수동 처리 시간을 약 20% 단축하는 것을 목표로 한다.
창구 서비스 개선을 위해, 교통국은 6월 말 홍콩 운전면허증 직접 발급 온라인 예약 시스템에 AI 기반 봇 방지 솔루션과 동적 식별 기술을 도입했다.
스마트 모빌리티를 촉진하기 위해 교통국은 시내 약 50개의 적합한 독립 신호 교차로에 실시간 적응형 교통 신호 시스템(RTATSS)을 단계적으로 도입하고 있다.
2027년 1분기에는 코즈웨이 베이의 글로스터 로드와 그레이트 조지 스트리트 교차로에서 스마트 교통 신호 시범 사업이 시행될 예정이다.
Traffic AI Systems Enhance Smart Mobility
On August 20, the Ministry of Transport announced a series of projects utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). These projects aim to streamline license issuance services, reduce renewal processing times to one day, and enhance smart mobility by introducing adaptive signal systems at approximately 50 intersections.
The Ministry plans to launch the "Simplified License Application Approval Project" by the end of this year. This system uses advanced large-scale language model technology to automatically recognize, cross-verify, and confirm online vehicle license renewal application documents.
The project aims to increase the automatic approval rate to over 90% and drastically reduce processing time from a maximum of 10 days to one day.
Additionally, this project applies to two cross-state driving systems: northbound driving for Hong Kong vehicles and southbound driving for Guangdong vehicles. The Ministry aims to increase the automatic approval rate for cross-state driving permit applications using AI to over 50%, thereby reducing manual processing time by approximately 20%. To improve counter services, the Transport Authority introduced AI-based anti-bot solutions and dynamic identification technology to the online reservation system for direct issuance of Hong Kong driver's licenses at the end of June.
To promote smart mobility, the Transport Authority is phased out the Real-Time Adaptive Traffic Signaling System (RTATSS) at approximately 50 eligible independent signal intersections in the city.
A smart traffic signaling pilot project is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027 at the intersection of Gloucester Road and Great George Street in Causeway Bay.
