정부, 이번 주 토요일 황강항 신항 훈련
공무원 1만 명 투입 예정
홍콩 보안국장은 1만 명의 공무원과 1천 대의 차량이 동원되는 대규모 훈련이 이번 주 토요일(8월 22일) 신황강항 홍콩항만구역에서 실시될 예정이라고 밝혔다.
탕 국장은 이번 훈련이 국경 통행량 처리 능력을 점검하는 데 매우 중요하며, 8월 29일에는 공무원 2만 명이 참여하는 추가 훈련이 예정되어 있다고 설명했다.
다만, 그는 검문소에 설치된 200개의 자동 통관 게이트는 아직 완전한 점검이 완료되지 않아 이번 훈련에는 사용되지 않을 것이라고 덧붙였다. 기술적인 문제가 해결되면 정부는 중국 본토 당국과 최소 한 차례 합동 훈련을 실시할 계획이다.
탕 장관은 자동화 게이트 테스트가 가장 큰 난관이라고 지적하며, 새로운 황강항의 정확한 개항일은 테스트 진행 상황에 달려 있다고 강조하고 홍콩과 선전시 정부가 모든 테스트를 최대한 빨리 완료하여 개항 후 원활한 운영을 보장하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다고 덧붙였다.
탕 장관은 10월 국경절 황금연휴 이전에 항만이 개항할 수 있을지에 대해서는 구체적인 언급을 피하며, 당국은 안전, 원활한 운영, 그리고 긍정적인 여행객 경험을 최우선으로 고려하여 개항을 서두르지 않을 것이라고 재차 강조했다.
Government to Conduct New Huanggang Port Exercise This Saturday
10,000 Officials to be Deployed
The Hong Kong Secretary for Security announced that a large-scale exercise involving 10,000 officials and 1,000 vehicles is scheduled to take place this Saturday (August 22) at the New Huanggang Port Hong Kong Port Area.
Secretary Tang explained that this exercise is crucial for assessing border traffic handling capabilities and that an additional exercise involving 20,000 officials is scheduled for August 29.
However, he added that the 200 automated customs gates installed at checkpoints will not be used in this exercise as they have not yet undergone complete inspection. Once technical issues are resolved, the government plans to conduct at least one joint exercise with mainland Chinese authorities.
Secretary Tang pointed out that testing the automated gates is the biggest hurdle, emphasizing that the exact opening date of the new Huanggang Port depends on the progress of the tests. He added that the Hong Kong and Shenzhen municipal governments aim to complete all tests as quickly as possible to ensure smooth operations after the port opens. Minister Tang avoided making specific comments on whether the port could open before the National Day Golden Week holiday in October, and reiterated that the authorities would not rush the opening, prioritizing safety, smooth operations, and a positive traveler experience.
