코스피, 반도체 수출 호조에 상승 전환… 6,340선 안착
국내 증시가 장 초반 하락세를 딛고 반도체 수출 호조 소식에 힘입어 상승 마감했다 .11일 코스피 지수는 전 거래일 대비 45.87포인트(0.73%) 오른 6,345.53에 거래를 마쳤다.
지수는 간밤 미국 증시 약세의 영향으로 6,240.06(-0.95%) 하락 출발했으나, 장중 외국인과 기관의 매수세가 유입되며 상승 전환에 성공했다. 코스닥 지수 역시 전 거래일보다 3.37포인트(0.39%) 상승한 857.84로 장을 마치며 2거래일 연속 상승세를 이어갔다.
이날 증시 반등의 핵심 동력은 반도체 업황 개선 신호였다. 관세청이 발표한 8월 초(1일~10일) 반도체 수출액이 전년 동기 대비 155% 이상 급증했다는 소식이 전해지면서 대형 반도체 종목으로 투자심리가 집중됐다. 대형주 가운데 유일하게 4% 이상 급등하며 지수 반등을 이끌었다. SK하이닉스: 상승세를 보이며 반도체 업종 전반의 강세를 뒷받침했다.
전문가들은 글로벌 지정학적 불안에 따른 국제 유가 반등과 밤사이 발표될 미국의 7월 소비자물가지수(CPI) 결과가 단기 향방을 좌우할 것으로 보고 있다. CPI 지표 결과에 따라 미 연준의 금리 인하 기대감이 재조정될 수 있는 만큼, 당분간 외풍에 따른 변동성 관리가 필요하다는 관측이다.

KOSPI Reverses Trend to Rise on Strong Semiconductor Exports... Settles at 6,340 Mark
The domestic stock market overcame an early decline and closed higher, buoyed by news of strong semiconductor exports. On the 11th, the KOSPI index finished trading at 6,345.53, up 45.87 points (0.73%) from the previous trading day.
The index opened lower at 6,240.06 (-0.95%) due to the overnight weakness in the US stock market, but successfully reversed course and rose as buying by foreign and institutional investors flowed in during the session. The KOSDAQ index also closed at 857.84, up 3.37 points (0.39%) from the previous day, continuing its upward trend for two consecutive trading days.
The key driving force behind the market rebound on this day was signals of improving semiconductor industry conditions. Investor sentiment concentrated on large-cap semiconductor stocks following news that semiconductor exports for early August (1st–10th), announced by the Korea Customs Service, surged by more than 155% year-on-year. It was the only large-cap stock to jump by over 4%, leading the index rebound. SK Hynix showed an upward trend, supporting the overall strength of the semiconductor sector.
Experts believe that the rebound in international oil prices driven by global geopolitical instability and the results of the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July, to be released overnight, will determine the short-term direction. As expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut could be readjusted depending on the CPI results, observers suggest that managing volatility caused by external shocks is necessary for the time being.
