식품안전센터(CFS)는 8월 11일, 이태리에서 수입한 미네랄 오일 방향족 탄화수소(MOAH)가 함유되었을 가능성이 있는 병입 올리브유 제품 2종을 섭취하지 말 것을 권고했다.
CFS는 안전을 위해 제조 배치와 관계없이 해당 제품을 섭취하지 말 것을 당부했다. 유통업체는 해당 제품을 보유하고 있을 경우 즉시 사용 및 판매를 중단해야 한다.

예비 조사 결과, 해당 유통업체가 문제의 제품을 유통한 것으로 확인되었다. 유통업체는 예방 조치로 자발적으로 판매를 중단하고, 문제의 제품들을 매장에서 철수시킨 후 회수를 시작했다.
식품 내 미네랄 오일 규정(제132AR장)에 따르면, 식품 제조 과정에서 식품이 접촉하는 표면에 윤활제 또는 그리스제로 미네랄 오일이 함유된 경우(식품 중량 대비 0.2% 이하)를 제외하고는, 미네랄 오일이 함유된 식품을 판매해서는 안 된다.
CFS(식품안전청)는 정기 식품 감시 프로그램의 일환으로 2023년부터 2026년 7월까지 3,000개 이상의 식용유 샘플을 수집하여 화학 및 미생물 검사를 실시했다. 앞서 발표된 바와 같이 금속 오염 물질이 검출된 부적합 샘플 1개를 제외하고 나머지 샘플은 모두 양호한 것으로 나타났다.

On August 11, the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) advised against consuming two types of bottled olive oil imported from Italy that may contain Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH).
For safety reasons, the CFS urged consumers not to consume these products regardless of the manufacturing batch. Distributors must immediately stop using and selling any products they possess.

Preliminary investigations confirmed that the distributor in question distributed the products in question. As a precautionary measure, the distributor voluntarily stopped sales, removed the affected products from stores, and began a recall.
According to the regulations on mineral oil in food (Chapter 132AR), food containing mineral oil must not be sold, except when mineral oil is used as a lubricant or grease on surfaces that come into contact with food during the manufacturing process (at a concentration of 0.2% or less of the food's weight).
As part of its regular food surveillance program, the CFS (Food Safety Authority) collected over 3,000 samples of edible oil from 2023 to July 2026 and conducted chemical and microbiological tests. As previously announced, all samples were found to be satisfactory, with the exception of one substandard sample in which metal contaminants were detected.
