외국인 전문직 비자 신청 3만 1,000건 돌파"

코비드 이전 대비 2배 폭증"홍콩 정부가 추진해 온 글로벌 인재 유치 정책이 결실을 맺으며, 최근 1년간 외국인 전문직 비자 신청 건수가 3만 1,000건을 돌파했다.
이는 팬데믹 이전인 5년 전과 비교해 2배 이상 급증한 수치이다. 이 같은 증가세는 고급 인재 유치 제도인 '고탑인재통과계획(Top Talent Pass Scheme, TTPS)'과 기존 일반 취업 비자(GEP)의 요건 완화가 결정적인 역할을 했다.
TTPS는 세계 200대 우수 대학 졸업자 또는 연 소득 250만 홍콩달러 이상을 달성한 고소득 전문가에게 사전 채용 확정 없이도 장기 체류 및 취업·창업 권한을 부여하는 제도이다. 유입된 전문직 인재들의 주요 분야는 금융·핀테크, AI, 바이오테크, 경영 컨설팅 등으로 나타났다.
글로벌 기업들의 홍콩 거점 재확출 움직임과 맞물려 IT 및 금융 핵심 인력의 유입이 가속화되면서, 홍콩이 아시아 중심의 글로벌 인재 허브로서의 입지를 단단히 다지고 있다는 평가가 나오고 있다.

As the Hong Kong government's global talent attraction policies bear fruit, the number of professional visa applications from foreigners has surpassed 31,000 in the past year.
This figure represents a more than twofold increase compared to five years ago, prior to the pandemic. This surge was driven by the "Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS)," a system designed to attract high-level talent, and the relaxation of requirements for the existing General Employment Visa (GEP).
The TTPS is a system that grants long-term residency, employment, and entrepreneurship rights to graduates of the world's top 200 universities or high-income professionals with an annual income of over HK$2.5 million, without requiring a prior hiring commitment. The major fields of the influx of professional talent include finance and fintech, AI, biotech, and management consulting.
