미국증시

미국 3대 주요 주가지수는 8월 들어 1%~2% 이상 상승하며 3거래일 연속 상승세를 기록했고, 다우존스 산업평균지수는 사상 최고치를 경신했다. 시장의 관심은 미국과 이란 간의 긴장이 완화되어 유가와 미국 국채 수익률이 하락할지 여부에 집중되고 있다.

다우존스 산업평균지수는 장중 한때 745포인트나 상승한 53,230까지 오르며 7월 초 기록했던 사상 최고치에 60포인트도 못 미치는 수준에 그쳤지만, 결국 693포인트(1.3%) 상승한 53,178로 마감하며 사상 최고치를 경신했다.

S&P 500 지수 역시 사상 최고치에 근접하며 110포인트(약 1.5%) 상승한 7,600으로 마감해 2개월여 만에 최고치를 기록했다.

 나스닥 종합지수는 540포인트(2.1%) 상승한 25,913으로 마감하며 약 3주 만에 최고치를 경신했다.

기술주들은 전반적으로 강세를 보였으며, 아마존은 거의 5% 상승하며 시가총액이 사상 처음으로 3조 달러를 돌파했다. 

SpaceX는 실적 발표를 앞두고 주가가 거의 6% 상승했고, Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta도 4%에서 6% 이상 올랐다. Apple은 이러한 추세와는 반대로 거의 2% 하락했고, 일부 메모리 칩 관련 주식도 약세를 보였다.

한편, 보잉의 737 Max 7이 거의 10년 간의 개발 끝에 마침내 미국 연방항공국(FAA)의 인증을 획득했다. 이 소식에 보잉 주가는 장 마감 시 8% 상승하며 다우존스 구성 종목 중 최고 상승률을 기록했다.

The three major U.S. stock indices have risen by more than 1% to 2% in August, marking three consecutive trading days of gains, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a new all-time high. Market attention is focused on whether easing tensions between the U.S. and Iran will lead to a decline in oil prices and U.S. Treasury yields.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed as high as 53,230—a jump of 745 points at one point during the session—falling less than 60 points short of the all-time high recorded in early July. However, it ultimately closed at 53,178, up 693 points (1.3%), setting a new all-time high.

The S&P 500 index also approached its all-time high, closing at 7,600, up 110 points (approximately 1.5%) to reach its highest level in over two months. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 25,913, up 540 points (2.1%), marking a new high in about three weeks.

Tech stocks were generally strong, with Amazon rising nearly 5% to surpass a market capitalization of $3 trillion for the first time in history.

SpaceX's stock price rose nearly 6% ahead of its earnings announcement, while Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta also gained between 4% and over 6%. Contrary to this trend, Apple fell nearly 2%, and some memory chip-related stocks also showed weakness.

Meanwhile, Boeing's 737 Max 7 finally received certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after nearly a decade of development. Following this news, Boeing's stock price rose 8% at market close, recording the highest gain among Dow Jones components.
