홍콩 싱크탱크, 학교 내 AI 관리체계 촉구
홍콩미래 경제 연구소가 초등학교와 중등학교들이 통일된 기준 없이 여러 인공지능 도구를 파편적으로 사용하면서 "데이터 사일로" 문제에 직면해 있으며, 이로 인해 교육 효과 평가가 어렵다고 지적했습니다.
홍콩미래경제연구소는 80개 이상의 학교를 대상으로 에세이 채점, 언어 학습 등 20만 건 이상의 학생 학습 기록을 분석했다.
분석 결과, 많은 학교들이 다양한 AI 도구를 활용하고 있으며, 일부 학교는 12개 이상의 플랫폼을 도입했지만, 이러한 기술의 효과를 평가하거나 향후 교육 전략을 수립하기 위한 데이터 추적 또는 분석 체계를 구축한 학교는 극히 드문 것으로 나타났다.
그 결과, 학생 학습 데이터는 분산되어 있다. 이러한 파편화된 데이터로 인해 교사, 학부모, 학교 관리자는 학생의 학습 진척 상황을 종합적으로 파악하거나 AI가 교육에 미치는 실질적인 영향을 평가하기 어렵다.
이러한 과제를 해결하기 위해 싱크탱크는 학교가 자체적인 데이터 관리 체계를 구축하고 교사의 데이터 활용 능력을 향상시킬 것을 권고했다.
또한, 학교 운영 기관과 정부가 협력하여 표준 계약 및 공통 데이터 관리 요건을 마련하고 데이터 사용 및 정보 보안에 대한 규칙을 통일할 것을 촉구했다.
더불어, 업계 전반의 표준을 정립하는 데 도움이 될 수 있도록 범분야적인 AI 제품 평가 및 인증 시스템을 구축할 것을 요구했다.
Hong Kong Think Tank Urges Establishment of AI Management Systems in Schools
The Hong Kong Institute for Future Economy pointed out that primary and secondary schools are facing a "data silo" problem due to the fragmentary use of various artificial intelligence tools without unified standards, making it difficult to evaluate educational effectiveness.
The Institute analyzed over 200,000 student learning records, including essay grading and language learning, across more than 80 schools.
The analysis revealed that while many schools utilize diverse AI tools and some have adopted more than 12 platforms, very few have established data tracking or analysis systems to evaluate the effectiveness of these technologies or formulate future educational strategies.
As a result, student learning data is fragmented. Due to this fragmented data, teachers, parents, and school administrators find it difficult to comprehensively grasp students' learning progress or assess the practical impact of AI on education.
To address these challenges, the think tank recommended that schools establish their own data management systems and improve teachers' data utilization capabilities. Furthermore, it urged school operating agencies and the government to cooperate in establishing standard contracts and common data management requirements, and to unify rules regarding data usage and information security.
In addition, it called for the establishment of a cross-sectoral AI product evaluation and certification system to help establish industry-wide standards.
