MTR student travel scheme
MTR사는 학생 승차권 할인 제도를 통해 학생들에게 요금 할인을 제공해 통학에 필수적인 교통비를 감면(약 50%)해 줌으로써 학업에 전념할 수 있는 환경을 만들어 준다.
- 대상 : 만 12세에서 25세 사이 (만 25세인 경우, 만 25세가 되는 학년도 말까지 사용할 수 있다.
학생 신분: 홍콩 내 공인 교육기관(중등학교, 대학교, 전문대학 포함)에서 제공하는 정규 주간 과정에 등록된 학생을 대상으로 하며 시간제 학생, 야간 과정 학생, 통신 과정 학생은 대상에서 제외된다.
자격 요건을 충족하는 학생은 "학생 신분"이 표시된 개인 맞춤형 옥토퍼스 카드를 사용하면 일반 MTR 성인 요금에서 약 50% 할인을 받는다.
대부분의 MTR 중전철, 경전철, MTR 버스 노선에서 사용 가능하다. (단, 공항철도, 이스트 레일 1등석, 로우 및 록마차우와 같은 국경 검문소 이용 시에는 사용이 제한된다.)
학교 확인: 신청자는 신청 과정에서 유효한 학생증을 업로드하거나 학교/기관의 승인을 받아야 할 수 있다.
카드 발급/활성화: 학생 신분이 표시된 개인 맞춤형 옥토퍼스 카드를 발급받거나 모바일 옥토퍼스에 학생 신분을 입력할 수 있다.
기존 카드 소지자: 할인 요금을 유지하려면 만료일(일반적으로 10월 말/11월) 전에 매년 "학생 신분"을 갱신해야 한다.
유효 기간: 학생 신분은 일반적으로 1~2학년도 동안 유효하며, 이후 갱신 신청서를 제출해야 한다.

The MTR Corporation provides the Student Travel Scheme to ease transport cost burdens for students, helping them focus on their studies.
Eligible students receive approximately 50% discount off standard adult fares on the MTR network using a Personalised Octopus Card with "Student Status."
Eligibility Criteria
Age: Between 12 and 25 years old (students aged 25 remain eligible until the end of the academic year in which they turn 25).
Student Status: Must be enrolled in an eligible full-time day course at an accredited institution in Hong Kong (including secondary schools, universities, and tertiary colleges).
Exclusions: Part-time, evening, and correspondence students are not eligible.
Coverage & Exclusions
Valid on: Most MTR heavy rail lines, Light Rail, and MTR Bus services.
Exclusions: Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, and journeys to/from border control stations (Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau).
Application & Renewal Process
Verification: Applicants must upload a valid Student ID or obtain endorsement from their school/institution during application.
Issuance/Activation: Applicants can receive a physical Personalised Octopus Card or activate their "Student Status" via Mobile Octopus.
Renewal & Validity: Student Status is typically valid for 1 to 2 academic years. Existing cardholders must renew annually before the expiration date (usually by late October or November) to retain the discount.
