■ 홍콩 여권, 세계 14위 기록

홍콩 여권이 비자 없이 174개국에 입국할 수 있는 세계 14위로 중화권 국가 중 가장 강력한 여권으로 자리매김했다.

싱가포르는 192개국에 비자 없이 입국할 수 있어 헨리 여권 지수(Henley Passport Index)에서 다시 한번 1위를 차지했다. 일본과 한국이 188개국으로 공동 2위에 올랐으며, 상위 3위는 아시아 국가들이 차지했다.

시민권 자문 회사인 헨리앤파트너스(Henley & Partners)가 발표하는 이 지수는 국제항공운송협회(IATA) 데이터를 기반으로 199개국 여권과 227개 여행 목적지를 비교 평가했다. 입국 요건 변경에 따라 정기적으로 업데이트된다.

홍콩은 134개국에 입국 가능한 대만(34위)보다 높은 순위를 기록했으며, 중국 본토 여권은 83개국에 입국 가능한 중국 여권으로 60위에 올랐다.

이번 20주년 기념 보고서는 2006년 지수 발표 이후 세계 여행 자유도가 어떻게 변화했는지도 보여준다.

Hong Kong Passport Ranked 14th Globally

• Global & Regional Ranking: The Hong Kong passport ranks 14th globally with visa-free access to 174 destinations, making it the most powerful passport in the Greater China region.

• Top Performers: Singapore secured 1st place (192 destinations), while Japan and South Korea tied for 2nd place (188 destinations), putting Asian nations at the top of the index.

• Greater China Comparison: Hong Kong outperformed Taiwan (34th; 134 destinations) and Mainland China (60th; 83 destinations).

• About the Index: Published by Henley & Partners using IATA data, the Henley Passport Index evaluates 199 passports across 227 travel destinations. This edition marks the report's 20th anniversary.
